The Toronto Argonauts remained in first place in the CFL's East Division on Monday night, as kicker Lirim Hajrullahu converted a 34-yard field goal as time expired to seal a 27-24 victory over the Ottawa RedBlacks.

The Argos improved to 3-2 on the season, while the reigning Grey Cup champs fell to 1-4-1.

While the beginning of the game was dominated by the defense, both sides opened up in the final quarter, creating a thrilling finish.

After Ottawa completed a two-point conversion to tie the game at 17-17, a Trevor Harris interception opened the door for Toronto to take the lead, and an 8-yard touchdown catch by Anthony Coombs put the Argos back on top.

However, after trading possessions, Toronto was faced with a third-and-inches on their own 30-yard line. They fell short by a single chain link, and on the next play, Harris found the CFL's leading receiver in Greg Ellingson for a 31-yard touchdown strike with 2:09 remaining.

On the final drive of the game, Ricky Ray assertively led the Argos down the field, completing six-of-six passes to set up the game-winning field goal. Ray finished the day 40-for-55 with 367 yards and two scores.

Up next, the Argos travel to Saskatchewan for a date with the last-place Roughriders, while the RedBlacks are off with a bye.
