Meyer: Schiano turned down 2 'significant' head coaching jobs
Ohio State defensive coordinator Greg Schiano rejected a pair of "significant" head coaching offers this offseason, head coach Urban Meyer revealed Monday at Big Ten Media Days.

Schiano joined the Buckeyes' staff ahead of the 2016 season following a two-year absence from football. He was the head coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 2012-13, but is known in the college ranks for his highly successful 11-year stint at Rutgers before that.
The Scarlet Knights have struggled mightily since Schiano left.
"He will be a head coach (again)," Meyer told Dan Hope of Eleven Warriors. "I'm going to keep him as long as I can. He's one of the best I've ever been around."
Power 5 schools Baylor, Cal, LSU, Minnesota, Oregon, Purdue, and Texas all made coaching changes this offseason. Indiana also changed coaches, but promoted defensive coordinator Dennis Allen to the role instead of conducting a national search.
