Orlando City has its sights set on bringing Dom Dwyer back under the Florida sun as Taylor Twellman of ESPN reports the Lions have been "aggressively pursuing" the Sporting Kansas City striker over the last week.

Twellman added that Sporting KC has "engaged" the club before noting that Dwyer is in a contract year and could potentially make the move for free at the end of the season, should he choose. Twellman further reports that a third team was interested in the newly minted U.S. international, but that is no longer the case.

Dwyer, 26, joined Sporting Kansas City in 2012 but spent the 2013 season on loan with Orlando before the club made the step up into Major League Soccer. His familiarity with the team coupled with the organization's fondness of the player during that time seems to explain the interest.

But Orlando could also be looking to offload Cyle Larin, who was involved in a DUI charge earlier in the month. In Larin's particular case, the Lions might also be looking for a replacement as the Canada international has been linked with a move to Europe, too.

While Twellman didn't specify the motivation behind Orlando's interest in Dwyer, it would take a significant offer to pry away the $668,750 star from Sporting KC.
