Messam helps Stamps handle last-place Roughriders

Kevin Glenn made history, but that was about the only fun the Calgary Stampeders granted their opponent Saturday, stuffing the Saskatchewan Roughriders en route to a 27-10 home victory.

Glenn became the seventh quarterback in CFL history to surpass 50,000 career passing yards, but it hardly affected the outcome of the game.

Jerome Messam rushed for 135 yards and a touchdown for the Stampeders, while Bo Levi Mitchell threw for 253 yards and two scores with one interception as Calgary picked up its third victory of the season.

The Stamps are now 3-1-1 on the campaign, while Saskatchewan sits in last place in the West Division with a 1-3 mark.

It was another quiet night for Saskatchewan receiver Duron Carter, with the prized free-agent signing registering two receptions for 12 yards. He's now recorded three catches for 21 yards over his last two contests, and has yet to go over 69 yards receiving in any game this year.

The Roughriders also got little from their running game, as Cameron Marshall ran for 40 yards and a touchdown. He received just nine carries.

Calgary appeared to be in cruise control for much of the night, jumping out to a 17-0 lead before halftime. Rene Paredes converted both of his field goal attempts.
