Watch: Astros' Moran fouls ball off face, gets carted off field

Troy Taormina / USA TODAY Sports

Houston Astros infielder Colin Moran had to be carted off the field Saturday against the Baltimore Orioles after a pitch from reliever Darren O'Day careened off his bat and immediately struck him in the face.

Moran was tended to by manager A.J. Hinch on the field, as well as a trainer who held a towel against the 24-year-old's left eye, from where blood could be seen dripping.

Following the incident, Moran stood up momentarily but had to then sit back down before he was taken off the field on a cart.

Moran, who was called up Tuesday in place of the injured Carlos Correa, was playing in just the 11th game of his MLB career.
