Stephen Jackson: DeMarre Carroll 'not good enough to have an opinion'

Some people believe that instead of taking shots at his former team, DeMarre Carroll should just pipe down.

Upon being traded from the Toronto Raptors to the Brooklyn Nets, the 30-year-old forward told reporters that the isolation-heavy Raps didn't trust each other, adding that he fits better with the Nets because they move the ball more than their Atlantic Division rivals.

Ex-NBA player Stephen Jackson wasn't having any of that.

"DeMarre Carroll, why are you even talking?" the 39-year-old asked on ESPN's "The Jump."

"If anybody passes you the ball, you should be happy. Play defense. You're Bruce Bowen, just go in the corner, shoot threes, and be happy. You shouldn't even have an input. You're not good. You can shoot threes in the corner. ... He's not good enough to have an opinion. He's not. He's not. He's not."

Jackson, who played against Carroll in the latter stages of his 14-year pro career, added that he doesn't even consider the former D-Leaguer to be a starter in the NBA.

Paul Pierce wasn't as harsh, but did say Carroll is "just salty," and would've been better off not burning bridges.

Toronto inked the 6-foot-8 wing to a $60-million deal in 2015 before moving him in a salary dump last week. He averaged 9.4 points, 4.1 rebounds, 1.3 steals, and one assist per game for the club, but struggled with injuries and was a disappointment overall.
