Perisic named to Inter's pre-season squad amid reported United interest

Inter has decided to call up Ivan Perisic for the club's pre-season tour of Asia, despite Manchester United's longstanding reported interest in the Croatian winger.

The 28-year-old will join the 28-man squad for the trip to China and Singapore, potentially sidetracking United's plans to sign the player.

Various outlets, including the BBC, believe United is in advanced talks to sign Perisic from the Nerazzurri. Representatives for the Red Devils apparently travelled to Milan recently to push a deal through.

United, however, has struggled to meet Inter's lofty asking price. Multiple bids have reportedly fallen short of the Italian side's £48-million valuation of Perisic.

Inter is no longer at risk of contravening UEFA's Financial Fair Play regulations, meaning it has the luxury to sit and demand what it wants.

Perisic registered 11 goals and eight assists in Serie A last season.
