Oregon receiver Darren Carrington has been dismissed from the program following a DUII arrest earlier this month, the team announced Friday. The wideout had initially been suspended over the incident.

Ducks head coach Willie Taggart informed Carrington he was no longer with the program and released a short statement.

"I have visited with Darren Carrington and informed him that he is no longer a member of our program," Taggart said. "We will always consider Darren a Duck and support him in any way we can. We wish him all the best in his future endeavors."

It's a big loss for the Ducks, as Carrington led the team in receiving last season with 606 yards to go along with five touchdowns.

Carrington's DUII arrest wasn't the first discipline issue he was involved with while at Oregon. Last October Carrington was accused of pushing a former student after a game against Arizona State and was he reportedly cited for an alcohol violation in 2015. Additionally, Carrington was ruled ineligible for the 2014 national title game because of a failed drug test.
