Mickelson fires final-round 64 at Greenbrier; will skip Scottish Open
Phil Mickelson finally played the type of golf he's capable of Sunday at the Greenbrier Classic.
Mickelson made a pair of birdies on the front nine, then tossed five more on the scorecard on the back nine - which included a bogey at No. 15 - to post a 6-under-par 64. It was his lowest score of the season.
"It's nice to get a little bit of momentum and to finally shoot a number that I feel like I've been playing well enough to shoot," Mickelson told Will Gray of the Golf Channel.

The five-time major champion will forego playing in next week's Scottish Open, due to Dundonald Links hosting this year instead of Castle Stuart, a venue he won at in 2013 the week before claiming the Open Championship.
"I'm going to head over there later this week to get a few extra days in at Birkdale," said Mickelson. "I have a real affinity for the golf course. I just have a special place in my heart for it, and I'm looking forward to playing there this year."
The 47-year-old played in his first Open Championship at Royal Birkdale Golf Club in 1991, where he tied for 73rd.
