Vanderbilt TE Dobbs charged in Fourth of July drone incident

Jim Brown / USA TODAY Sports

Vanderbilt tight end Sam Dobbs has been charged with misdemeanor reckless endangerment for landing a drone in a large crowd during Fourth of July celebrations in Nashville.

According to a police report obtained by Adam Sparks of The Tennessean, Dobbs flew his drone over a crowd of 240,000 people which led to the charge.

The junior had six catches for 73 yards and a touchdown last season and will be punished internally according to school spokesperson Kyle Parkinson.

This isn't the first time Dobbs' drone has attracted attention, as he was the mastermind behind the humorous video that features the football team spoofing the sorority recruitment process.
