Report: Shelvin Mack finalizing 2-year, $12M deal with Magic

Russ Isabella / USA TODAY Sports

The Orlando Magic are finalizing an agreement to sign free-agent point guard Shelvin Mack, sources told Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

He will reportedly earn $12 million over the next two seasons.

The 27-year-old Mack is the prototypical backup point guard. He's not exceptional at scoring, or facilitating, but he can keep the ship afloat to spell the starter. He will likely mop up minutes behind Elfrid Payton next year.

Mack averaged 7.8 points and 2.8 assists while hitting 44.6 percent from the floor and 30.8 percent from deep last season with the Utah Jazz.
