Last week, a report indicated LeBron James wasn't actively recruiting players for the Cleveland Cavaliers. He may have started.

James has spoken with veteran guard Jamal Crawford, who is "very interested" in joining the Cavs, sources told Cleveland.com's Joe Vardon.

The former L.A. Clipper was officially traded to the Atlanta Hawks on Thursday night. Crawford is anticipated to take a buyout and become an unrestricted free agent.

While the Cavs weren't expected to be players for this year's crop of big-name free agents, the defending Eastern Conference champs have done little outside of adding Jose Calderon since free agency began. The team parted ways with general manager David Griffin on June 19.

The Cavs are capped out and can only offer Crawford the taxpayer's mid-level exception of $5.2 million. The 37-year-old shooter may welcome the opportunity to play on a title contender.
