Report: Leicester tables £25M bid for City's Iheanacho

Leicester City is confident over its pursuit of Kelechi Iheanacho after submitting an offer worth £25 million to sign the Manchester City forward, according to The Telegraph's John Percy.

Iheanacho was identified as one of manager Craig Shakespeare's top priorities heading into the summer, and the 20-year-old looks poised to become one of Leicester's most expensive signings.

The reported offer is expected to be completed and announced later this month.

Terms of the transfer deal are all but agreed upon, with negotiations between the Nigeria international and Leicester officials expected to take place next.

The forward's expected arrival comes after the Foxes completed transfers for defender Harry Maguire from Hull City and defensive midfielder Vicente Iborra from Sevilla.

Iheanacho's departure would bring an end to a frustrating career with City. After a promising 2015-16 campaign, Iheanacho saw his role dwindle during the opening months of Pep Guardiola's reign at City.

He found himself included in the starting XI for the Manchester derby - where he scored and collected an assist in the 2-1 win over United - but was out of favour soon after, as Guardiola preferred using midfielder Kevin De Bruyne as a false nine rather deploy Iheanacho up front.

After progressing through the City academy, Iheanacho went on to score over 20 goals in 60 appearances.
