Report: Waiters finalizing 4-year, $52M deal to return to Heat
Waiters Island appears to be staying put just off South Beach.
Unrestricted free agent Dion Waiters is finalizing a four-year deal to return to the Miami Heat, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
Financial terms are $52 million over the four years, according to Basketball Insiders' Michael Scotto.
The shooting guard had reportedly been courting interest from the Los Angeles Lakers and New York Knicks since free agency began, but it appears he'll be heading back to where he enjoyed a career renaissance of sorts in 2016-17.
It's a huge raise for Waiters, who signed for one year at Miami's $2.9-million exception last summer. He went on to put together one of the best runs of his career in only 46 games - averaging 15.8 points on career-high 39.5 percent 3-point shooting.
