Watch: Judge ties Yankees' rookie HR record

Aaron Judge slugged his way into the New York Yankees' record books Wednesday afternoon in the Bronx, smashing a two-run bomb off Toronto Blue Jays right-hander Marco Estrada for his 29th home run of the season, which ties Joe DiMaggio's franchise record for long balls by a rookie.

Judge, who's set to participate in next week's Home Run Derby, needed just 81 games to smack his 29th round-tripper, a towering, fourth-inning blast to right-center. In 1936, his first season with the Yankees, DiMaggio didn't go deep for the 29th time until Sept. 13, in his 128th game of the campaign.

Still a few days shy of the season's unofficial halfway mark, Judge sits 20 home runs short of the MLB rookie record for homers set in 1987 by Mark McGwire, who went deep 49 times in his first full season with the Oakland Athletics.
