The Indiana Pacers have hired Charlotte Hornets assistant general manager Chad Buchanan to become the team's new GM, sources tell The Vertical's Adrian Wojnarowski.
Buchanan will work under Kevin Pritchard, who replaced Larry Bird as the team's president of basketball operations in May.
Pritchard and Buchanan are familiar with one another, having both spent time in the Portland Trail Blazers' front office.
The Pacers have a big offseason ahead after All-Star forward Paul George reportedly told the organization that he plans to leave Indiana in 2018.
