Report: Hearing on potential Floyd suspension held last week

Michael Floyd might consider himself fortunate after he netted just a one-day jail sentence for failing an alcohol test while under house monitoring, but he may be subject to discipline from the NFL as well.

Floyd was also arrested for DUI in Arizona in December, and an NFL hearing regarding his case was held last week, a source informed Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk. He would appear to be in line for a two-game suspension at minimum under the league's substance-abuse policy.

He could also net an additional eight-game suspension if it's deemed that violating his house arrest represents a second violation of league policy after the DUI.

Floyd, a free-agent pickup by the Minnesota Vikings this offseason, opted to serve his one day in jail on Monday and is expected to complete the final five days of his house arrest. Despite the developments, the Vikings have remained supportive of the wide receiver. General manager Rick Spielman issued a statement Monday night stating that Floyd is expected to report to training camp on July 26.
