Larin cleared for MLS action after DUI shame

Logan Bowles-USA TODAY Sports

Cyle Larin is eligible for Orlando City duty following assessment from Major League Soccer's Substance Abuse and Behavioral Health (SABH) program doctors.

The 22-year-old was found by police driving on the wrong side of the road in Orlando, Fla., in the early hours of June 15. The Canadian then blew .179, which is over twice the legal limit for blood-alcohol content.

MLS announced later on that same day that Larin wouldn't be able to play league games until he completed his SABH assessment.

Larin will continue the program locally while he makes himself available for the Lions' upcoming league matches at Real Salt Lake on Friday, and then against Toronto FC on home turf five days later. His availability for Orlando's forthcoming tilts was confirmed when he wasn't included in Canada's Gold Cup squad on Tuesday.
