Another team is seemingly ready to throw in the towel on K.J. McDaniels.

The Brooklyn Nets reportedly plan to decline their team option on the 24-year-old wing, thus making him an unrestricted free agent, sources told The Vertical's Shams Charania.

McDaniels made $3.3 million in 2016-17, while his option would have paid him slightly more at $3.4 million next year.

Brooklyn acquired the former 32nd overall pick from the Houston Rockets ahead of February's trade deadline in exchange for cash considerations.

He averaged 6.3 points on 45.5 percent shooting across 20 appearances with the franchise.
