The 4 best shots from Spieth's crazy 3rd round at the Travelers

Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports

Jordan Spieth had a wild third round at the Travelers Championship, but still holds a one-shot lead after 54 holes, thanks to a late charge on Saturday.

Here are his best four shots from a third-round 66 at TPC River Highlands.

Chip-in birdie at No. 6

Spieth made five straight pars to start his round before going long with his third shot from the bunker at the par-5 sixth. The 23-year-old's subsequent chip landed nicely on the dance floor and eventually found the bottom of the cup for his first birdie of the day.

Stuffing it at No. 7

The world No. 6 split the fairway at the seventh, flagged a 9-iron to three feet, and brushed home the putt for back-to-back birdies.

What sand?

The par-4 15th was reachable from the tee on Saturday, but Spieth's attempt from the blocks found the greenside bunker on the right. Facing very little green to work with, Spieth clipped the ball perfectly, nearly holing the bunker shot for eagle.

Taking the lead

Spieth looked like he was going to be tied with Boo Weekley heading into the final round, but after a birdie at the 17th hole, the Dallas native gave himself a 20-foot birdie look at 18. Spieth stepped over the putt, and stroked home his seventh bird of the round, regaining the solo lead.
