Indians' Zimmer challenges The Freeze, starts Twitter feud

The legend of The Freeze continues, with another major leaguer looking for a shot at the Atlanta Braves' viral sensation.

Cleveland Indians rookie Bradley Zimmer jumped into the fray Thursday, a day after his team volunteered him for the challenge following a play in which the 24-year-old outfielder raced home to score.

To Zimmer's credit, he didn't shy away, beginning a Twitter feud with Nigel Talton - The Freeze's real name.

It got better, though, as the former track athlete photoshopped Zimmer's face onto a picture of one of his victims, who literally ate The Freeze's dust.

Zimmer - whose running is hopefully better than his photo-editing skills - responded with this gem:

The Freeze has been a breakout success with fans willing to sit through a Braves baseball game to catch his main event in SunTrust Park's inaugural season.

Zimmer isn't the first major leaguer to challenge him, as speedy Miami Marlins second baseman Dee Gordon is also under the impression he can beat Talton.

Whether The Freeze toes the line against a professional athlete remains to be seen. Regardless, it's pretty impressive that the mid-inning entertainment is attracting such illustrious challengers.
