Following a transfer saga that reportedly included a blocked move to TCU, former LSU offensive tackle Willie Allen will play for a JUCO in Texas next season, he confirmed Thursday to Ross Dellenger of The Advocate.

The 6-foot-7, 310-pounder announced he was transferring earlier in June and appeared set to join TCU before the move fell through. The Tigers blocked it due to impermissible contact between a TCU staff member and Allen, a source told Dellenger.

Though Allen had other FBS options, he would have lost a year of eligibility if he decided to go that route. Having already redshirted last season, Allen isn't able to take another redshirt year as he sits out the 2017 campaign due to NCAA regulations. He is eligible immediately for Tyler Junior College at the JUCO level and can move back to an FBS program the following year.

The New Orleans native was the second-ranked offensive tackle in the country for the class of 2016, and the 16th-best overall prospect on the ESPN 300.
