Georgia's Smart thrilled to have QB Ramsey back in fold

Brice Ramsey may never start another game for Georgia, but head coach Kirby Smart still couldn't be more excited to re-welcome the fifth-year pivot back into the program.

Ramsey entered last year as the Bulldogs' starter but was quickly benched in favor of freshman Jacob Eason. He announced his decision to transfer in March with more playing time in mind, but reversed course at the beginning of June and elected to play out his eligibility in the place he's called home for the last four years.

"We're where one injury doesn't hurt us," Smart told Seth Emerson of DawgNation regarding his new quarterback situation. "We can still have good guys. (Ramsey's) got good experience, he's played. He cares about Georgia. For him to be here today with these kids and interact, that's showing he's giving back, he's all in. It means a lot to see him here."

Ramsey hasn't played much in his four years with the Dawgs, and has thrown for just 582 yards with four touchdowns and four interceptions in his career. He'll be depended on to mentor both Eason and first-year pivot Jake Fromm in 2017, before bidding farewell to the Bulldogs for good.
