Report: Jazz among 12 teams interested in Patrick Beverley

Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports

Plenty of teams are interested in a cheap and serviceable backup point guard if the Houston Rockets are looking to offload some salary.

The Utah Jazz are among 12 teams interested in Patrick Beverley, according to Tony Jones of the Salt Lake Tribune.

Adding him wouldn't necessarily preclude the Jazz from re-signing key free agent George Hill, Jones notes. Beverley could come off the bench or play in a dual point guard alignment alongside Hill.

Houston put Beverley on the market this week in hopes of clearing enough cap room to pursue one of four max-level free agents. The Rockets are also shopping Ryan Anderson and Lou Williams.

Utah has plenty of cap room to absorb his $5.5-million cap hit without sending any money back to Houston.
