Bellator breaks down new broadcast team's duties for MSG show
Mike Goldberg is headed back to Madison Square Garden.
The former UFC play-by-play man will return to New York City as a member of Bellator's newly formed broadcast team for Saturday's star-studded Bellator NYC, the promotion announced Monday in a release.
Goldberg will fill the recently departed Sean Grande's shoes and call the action alongside color commentator Jimmy Smith on Bellator 180, while former PRIDE FC and Strikeforce voice Mauro Ranallo will take his place on Bellator NYC, the pay-per-view portion of the stacked show. The former UFC broadcaster will also handle the card's online prelims.
Goldberg spent 20 years as the voice of the UFC, and joined the Scott Coker-led outfit last week after calling his last UFC show in December. Saturday's card will make him the first broadcaster to have called two major MMA events at the world-renowned arena.
