Robertson: White Sox schedule worst 'I've ever been a part of'

Through Sunday, the Chicago White Sox have played 68 games. Of those, 41 have been away from the friendly confines of Guaranteed Rate Field on the South Side of Chicago.

Monday is an off day between two three-game road sets before returning home for 10 straight games. The problem is the White Sox have had four separate road trips consisting of at least nine games already.

Closer David Robertson is not a fan of how the team's schedule has shaken out, according to the Chicago Tribune's Colleen Kane.

"Worst schedule I've ever been a part of," Robertson said. "I can't remember ever doing four 10-day trips in a season, let alone right out of the gates. We finished a 10-day trip, go back for four. It's like we're continuously on the road. We haven't even had a chance to settle in at home."

Robertson has one more year on his contract before becoming a free agent, and has been a name bandied about in trade rumors since the offseason. He's been his typically effective self so far, posting a 3.20 ERA over 25 1/3 innings, converting 11 saves in the process.

Some respite may come with the realization that the White Sox only have one more 10-day stretch away from home the rest of the season. It comes in mid-September, though, so if the persistent trade rumors come to fruition, it may not impact Robertson directly.

The White Sox sit dead last in the AL Central, but are only 5 1/2 games behind the division-leading Cleveland Indians. The constant road trips have not been kind. At home, the White Sox have enjoyed a 15-12 record. Away from home, they're 16-25.
