Minor-league team trolls Tim Tebow all weekend

Joshua S. Kelly / USA TODAY Sports

Are you tired of the Tim Tebow news coverage? So too are the Charleston RiverDogs, who hosted Tebow and the rest of the Columbia Fireflies over the weekend for a three-game set.

The RiverDogs didn't have a lot of hospitality for the visiting Single-A affiliate of the New York Mets that carries the former NFL quarterback on its roster. Depicted on the jumbotron, the RiverDogs unceremoniously reminded their fans that some players on the roster aren't Tebow.

For every player that came up that wasn't Tebow, the backdrop of that player's headshot would be Tebow crying.

Even the mascot got in on the fun, putting eye-black under his eyes with the same bible verse etched on that Tebow used as motivation in the 2009 BCS National Championship Game.

To some degree, it must have worked considering the RiverDogs came away with a 2-1 series win.

Even further, it may have rattled Tebow specifically, as he launched a bat well up the first-base line and into the stands during one at-bat.

Same, RiverDogs. Same.
