Sydney McLaughlin - a 2016 Olympian and senior at New Jersey's Union Catholic High School - posted a blistering 49.85-second split in her leg of the Swedish Relay at the New Balance Outdoor Nationals on Friday to take her team from sixth to first.
It's believed to be the fastest 400-meter split ever by a high school girl.
McLaughlin, 17, already owns the junior world record for 400-meter hurdles with a time of a 54.03.
