Brees still surprised Saints signed Peterson

Some signings are just too good to be true.

Fortunately for the New Orleans Saints, landing Adrian Peterson was not one of those instances.

The Saints have been raving about Peterson's play on the practice field and just the fact that the future Hall of Famer is now on their team. Drew Brees may be the most boisterous about Peterson's potential impact.

In a piece by MMQB's Albert Breer that discusses the extent to which the Saints believe in Peterson, Brees admitted it's still surreal that the former 2,000-yard rusher is a Saint. He also touched on how much the move has motivated the team.

"It's still just such a surprise that it actually happened," Brees said. "We really signed Adrian Peterson? Mark (Ingram) is such a great player, and so it was amazing he came to us, and I think it says a lot about how he views our organization ...

"Knowing that he wants this to be his last stop. And here we go. That puts a little added responsibility on all of us - 'OK, this is our window, let’s go do it.'"
