Taurasi becomes all-time leading scorer in WNBA history

Diana Taurasi is unmatched.

With her 14th point in Sunday's game between her Phoenix Mercury and the Los Angeles Sparks, Taurasi became the leading scorer in WNBA history. She passed the previous mark of 7,488 points held by Tina Thompson.

At age 35, there's little left for Taurasi to accomplish. She's played her entire WNBA career with the Mercury, winning championships in 2007, 2009, and 2014. She was the league MVP for the 2008-09 campaign and has been named to an All-WNBA team in 11 of her 13 seasons.

At Connecticut, Taurasi won three straight national titles from 2002-04, and she's since played professionally in Russia and Turkey during her WNBA offseasons, helping her teams capture six Euroleague titles.

Taurasi has also represented the United States at the last four summer Olympics, and was a key contributor in Team USA's gold-medal dominance in each of those tournaments.

When she hangs up her sneakers for good, Taurasi will be a guaranteed, unequivocal first-ballot Hall of Famer. With little argument, she's one of the greatest basketball players to ever grace the hardwood.
