Report: Lakers courting trade offers for No. 2 pick
The Los Angeles Lakers have taken - and made - calls about trading the No. 2 selection in the June 22 draft over the last month, a source told the L.A. Times' Tania Ganguli.
While new general manager Rob Pelinka said in May that he would do his due diligence with the pick, Thursday's report is another indication that the Lakers drafting Lonzo Ball may not be a slam dunk after all.
Ball is scheduled to work out for his hometown team a second time Friday after he reportedly underwhelmed the Lakers' brass last week. Amid rumors that the front office is split on Ball, another report Thursday indicated the UCLA product is willing to work out for more lottery teams, something he shied away from earlier, preferring to focus on the Lakers.
The Lakers have already worked out Josh Jackson and De'Aaron Fox, and met with consensus No. 1 pick Markelle Fultz on Thursday.
