Rivers, Chargers say final goodbye to San Diego as minicamp ends
As he's likely done countless times before, Philip Rivers was among the last Chargers players to leave the practice field on Thursday.
The star pivot ended the Chargers' final minicamp in San Diego before the team completes its relocation to Los Angeles by winning a throwing competition against his fellow quarterbacks.
And after 13 years with the Chargers in town, Rivers admitted he felt the emotional weight of the final session at Chargers Park.
"I had sweaty hands and I was nervous before practice, and I was like, 'What is wrong with me?'" Rivers said, according to Ricky Henne of the team's official site. "Going into the last minicamp in year 14 and here I am nervous before going out there is a little ridiculous. But it was because of the fact that I'm not walking out that door with a helmet in my hand again."

The Chargers' move was announced six months ago, and while Rivers said he'll cherish the special memories in San Diego, he wants fans in L.A. to know he's all in.
"It is only right for me to be fired up to go up there, and know that everyone up there (in L.A.) is going to get the same guy that I've been here for the last 13 years."
