Report: Marlins' Yelich, Ozuna not yet available in trade talks

The Miami Marlins may be poised to sell off some key players, but two of their most important players aren't on the block just yet.

Star outfielders Christian Yelich and Marcell Ozuna are not among the Marlins players who are available in trade talks at this time, according to Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports.

Yelich and Ozuna's names first began to surface as potential trade candidates during a particularly rough stretch of games for the Marlins earlier this month. They've since continued to slide down the standings, and now sit at 32-38, some 10 games out of first place in the National League East. With the contract of Giancarlo Stanton likely hampering any attempts to move him, Yelich and Ozuna may be the club's best chance at getting a good return on some big names.

Ozuna is in the midst of the finest season of his young career to date, hitting .326/.392/.585 with a team-high 19 homers. Yelich, meanwhile, owns a .273/.357/.396 slash line with seven home runs and 11 doubles as the club's primary center fielder.

While the Marlins may not be ready to move Yelich and Ozuna just yet, they appear ready to swing deals for some of their other pieces. At least two of their relievers - closer AJ Ramos and swingman David Phelps - are already reportedly being dangled in trade conversations, according to Passan; a third Miami reliever, right-hander Kyle Barraclough, could be on the block as well.

Earlier Thursday, Passan reported that injured Marlins shortstop Adeiny Hechavarria could be traded within the next few days.
