The 2014 second overall pick was informed he'd been dealt to the Detroit Lions late Wednesday night and jumped on a red-eye flight to make Thursday's practice. After enduring nothing but struggles in his three seasons with the Rams, the offensive tackle said he's relieved to get a chance with a new team.

"I plan on benefiting from (my fresh start) tremendously," Robinson told Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press. "It's really refreshing and I plan to make the most out of it."

Robinson will be afforded an opportunity in Detroit right out of the gate, as left tackle Taylor Decker will miss the start of the season with a shoulder injury. That means Robinson will have the chance to compete for the vacated starting spot, though the former Ram isn't putting pressure on himself.

"My goal is just to come in, try my best to learn it as much as possible and then from there just step in and take the coaching and perform to the best of my ability," Robinson said.
