Stoops not interested in coaching Bears

Bob Stoops is only 56-years-old, so it's no surprise some think his coaching career may not be over despite announcing his retirement from Oklahoma last week.

Stoops now owns two homes in Chicago, leaving some to wonder if he has eyes on coaching the Chicago Bears.

"That’s a simple deal," Stoops told The Sports Animal, according to Cody Stavenhagen of the Tulsa World. "I got one that fits our style and what we want to do with our family better, and I’m gonna sell the other one. I’m not looking to coach in Chicago."

Stoops continues to maintain his stance that he retired of his own accord and isn't looking to get back into the game, but it wouldn't be the first time a coach changed his mind and returned to the sideline.

The Bears may have a vacancy sooner rather than later, as John Fox may need to pull a rabbit out of his hat to survive another season in Chicago. Fox is 9-23 in two years with the organization and the Bears appear to be in a rebuilding phase.

If Fox eventually does lose his job, the Stoops rumors should pick up more steam.
