'Hell nah': Warriors' Iguodala unwilling to visit Trump

It remains to be seen whether the 2017 NBA champion Golden State Warriors will visit President Donald Trump at the White House, with the team having released a statement Tuesday saying that they have yet to receive a formal invitation.

Veteran forward Andre Iguodala has been critical of the administration, and doesn't appear willing to make the potential trip.

"Hell nah," he told USA Today's Sam Amick ahead of Game 5 on Monday about taking part in a White House visit.

Iguodala added that he and the Warriors will ultimately follow the lead of their leader, Stephen Curry, who has also been outspoken about Trump in the past, and said it's possible there might be a new president by the time a potential meeting is scheduled.

"I think we handle (the White House situation) when it gets there. I mean, it may be different. There might be somebody different in (office)," said Iguodala. "That's a realistic thing to say though, right? So you don't know what's going to happen."

The 33-year-old said the best-case scenario may just be the POTUS not even extending an invite, which could save both sides plenty of headaches.

"Maybe (Trump) doesn't (invite us) and we don't go, or we don't say anything and make a big deal of it, and he doesn't make a big deal of it and we go our separate ways. Y'all might write about it. I might call him and say, 'If they ask, just say our schedules conflicted.' And then if y'all write something, we'll say, 'Fake News.'"
