Arizona State won't extend Todd Graham for 1st time in tenure

For the first time since hiring Todd Graham as head coach, Arizona State will not tack an extra year of security onto the coach's contract via an extension, according to Jeff Metcalfe of The Arizona Republic.

Graham, who's entering his sixth season with the Sun Devils, received one-year extensions in 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016, after initially inking a five-year contract. He still has four years remaining on his deal.

"It wasn’t rolled over because it didn’t need to be rolled over," athletic director Ray Anderson said, referring to Graham's contract.

Arizona State is 39-26 under Graham, but has posted back-to-back losing seasons after putting together a pair of 10-win campaigns in 2013 and 2014.

The absence of an extension means Graham will enter the 2017 campaign under a microscope in Tempe, Ariz., where the Sun Devils play.
