NCAA tells UCF kicker to shut down his YouTube account

David Manning / USA TODAY Sports

UCF kicker Donald De La Haye has found himself in some hot water with the NCAA over ... a YouTube account.

De La Haye's self-made YouTube channel has accumulated more than 53,000 followers and, more importantly to the NCAA, several advertisers. The kicker revealed in a recent video the NCAA told him he isn't allowed to make money off his videos, because it would be a violation of the association's rules.

The sophomore noted he'd essentially have to give up his scholarship and collegiate football career if he wants to continue his video-making passion.

De La Haye was used as a kickoff specialist last season, totaling 37 touchbacks in 2016.
