The International Olympic Committee's executive board voted Friday to keep golf in the Olympics through the 2024 Games.

The committee decided to keep all 28 sports from the 2016 Rio Olympics in the 2024 Games, which will be held in either Los Angeles or Paris.

Golf returned to the games after a 112-year hiatus in 2016. Justin Rose captured the men's gold medal for Great Britain, while Inbee Park won on the women's side, representing South Korea.

The IOC will award the 2024 Games in September.
