Syracuse adds ex-USF standout Geno Thorpe

Geno Thorpe, who led South Florida in scoring last season with 15.1 points per game, has committed to Syracuse as a graduate transfer.

"It's official,'' he told Mike Waters of Syracuse.com on Friday. "I'm going to do my fifth year at Syracuse.''

The 6-foot-4 combo guard chose to play his final season with the Orange over the likes of fellow ACC program Pitt, as well as Seton Hall. Thorpe began his career at Penn State before transferring to the Bulls.

Syracuse, which went 19-15 last year, lost three of its top four scorers to graduation at the end of the season.
