St-Pierre: Demetrious Johnson is my 'favorite guy to watch'
If Demetrious Johnson is feeling neglected, there's one admirer he'll definitely appreciate.
At an appearance in Toronto to promote the Nintendo Switch video game ARMS, MMA legend Georges St-Pierre showered praise upon "Mighty Mouse" when asked for his opinion on the recent drama between Johnson and the UFC.
The UFC flyweight king recently issued a lengthy public complaint about the promotion's marketing and treatment of him, and GSP agreed the two parties need to work together to better showcase Johnson.
"Think about Demetrious Johnson. There's some very good guys in his division, but he needs the charisma, he needs the big name," St-Pierre told theScore. "I think Demetrious is a great guy, he's a great fighter. I think it will come, he just needs to be patient. I think it's coming.
"I think the UFC need to give him a chance to reach that status of star status. I like to see him fight, he's my favorite guy to watch fight right now. There's a lot of guys I like to (watch) fight, but I would say he's my favorite guy."
Not a bad compliment from a man considered by many to be the greatest fighter of all time.
