Alexis Sanchez is going to let his agent do the talking, at least for now.

Intense speculation regarding his contract situation persisted throughout the season as the Arsenal star edges towards the final 12 months of his contract without any hint of an agreement between the two parties in sight.

Bayern Munich has emerged as one of the leading candidates to land Sanchez, with the German champion reportedly willing to offer the Chile international a colossal £40 million contract that would see him earn £350,000 a week.

Manchester City is another possible destination, but it's understood that Arsenal will be unwilling to sell the 28-year-old to a Premier League rival.

Sanchez, however, has no interest in discussing the matter as he insisted that he trusts his agent to look out for his best interests.

"I’m looking at what my agent is doing," Sanchez told AS Chile, as translated by James Olley of the Evening Standard.

"For now, I’m focused on the (Confederations) Cup in Russia and trying to do well.

"The truth is that my agent will see to it. He knows and he will sit down with the club to look for the best option for me."

As far as Arsenal is concerned, Sanchez will not be sold even if the two sides fail to reach an agreement before the transfer window shuts. Manager Arsene Wenger has insisted that neither Sanchez or Mesut Ozil, whose contract also expires next summer, will leave Arsenal before this season.

"No," Wenger said in an interview with beIN Sports when asked if Sanchez or Ozil will be sold. "You cannot weaken the club and weaken the team. You want to strengthen the team. Unless you find a player of the same calibre and if they absolutely want to leave..."
