Report: Pistons shopping Reggie Jackson, Andre Drummond
It looks like Stan Van Gundy's Detroit Pistons might be edging closer to hitting the reset button.
Per Basketball Insiders' Michael Scotto, Detroit has allegedly tested the trade market to see if there's any interest in two of their better players, point guard Reggie Jackson and center Andre Drummond.
The 2016-17 Pistons finished with a record of 37-45, missing the playoffs for the seventh time in eight seasons. They had shown some potential in the 2015-16 season, the first full season with both Drummond and Jackson in the fold, but were unable to take the next step forward as a team.
As for what they could get in return for their assets, it's hard to say; neither is without their warts. Jackson missed significant time at the start of last season with a sprained knee, while Drummond's abhorrent free-throw shooting makes him a liability when opponents deploy a "Hack-a-Drummond" strategy, intentionally sending the big man to the charity stripe.
Van Gundy has compiled a 113-133 record since taking the helm in Detroit. The team's current coach and president of basketball operations is going to have to spark a major turnaround if he's to lift his record in the Motor City to .500.
