Nothing like the Golden State Warriors' ongoing run of perfection has ever been seen in any of North America's four major sports leagues.
With a 15th straight postseason victory Wednesday - a 118-113 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 3 - the Warriors passed the Pittsburgh Penguins for the longest playoff winning streak compiled by any team in the NBA, NHL, NFL, or MLB.
League | Team | Streak | Years |
---|---|---|---|
NBA | Golden State Warriors | 15 | 2017 |
NHL | Pittsburgh Penguins | 14 | 1992-93 |
MLB | New York Yankees | 12 | 1927-32 + 1998-99 |
NFL | New England Patriots | 10 | 2002-06 |

With a win in Game 4 on Friday night at the Q, Golden State would become the first team in NBA history to go undefeated en route to a championship. The 2001 Los Angeles Lakers came close when they went 15-1 before capturing the title.
