NFL exec: Jets have 'worst roster I've seen in a decade'

The New York Jets made a number of moves Tuesday, none of which will help the team on the field in the immediate future.

The team cut 10-year veteran David Harris, and plans to release receiver Eric Decker if it can't find a trade partner.

Those moves came after they parted ways with Brandon Marshall, Nick Mangold, Darrelle Revis, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Nick Folk, Marcus Gilchrist, and Breno Giacomini, and traded Calvin Pryor.

As a result, the rest of the NFL isn't looking at the roster too fondly.

"I think the Jets might have the worst roster I've seen in a decade," one league executive said, according to NFL Network's Daniel Jeremiah.

While the defensive side of the ball still boasts plenty of talent in the likes of Leonard Williams, Sheldon Richardson, Muhammad Wilkerson, and 2017 draft picks Jamal Adams and Marcus Maye, the offense is led by journeyman quarterback Josh McCown and two unproven backups in Bryce Petty and Christian Hackenberg. Matt Forte heads the running back group, but the receivers include: Quincy Enunwa, ArDarius Stewart, Jalin Marshall, Robby Anderson, Charone Peake, and other unheralded pass-catchers.
