The Golden State Warriors have a 1-0 lead in the NBA Finals on the strength of Thursday's dominant performance, and they tied an impressive mark along the way.

The Warriors had just four turnovers in the 113-91 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers, tying the 2013 San Antonio Spurs and 2005 Detroit Pistons for the fewest committed in a Finals game.

By comparison, the Cavs had 20 giveaways, the largest differential in a Finals game in the 30 years. Eight of Cleveland's turnovers came from LeBron James, who coughed up the ball twice as much as the entire Warriors' roster in the contest.

The possession game matters, because the Warriors looked incredibly sharp in Game 1. Many of the turnovers were forced by a stifling defense as much as Cleveland's sloppiness. Kevin Durant scored a game-high 38 points without a giveaway.

The Warriors have not lost a game since April 10.
