Oklahoma nabs highly touted QB Tanner Mordecai

Jennifer Hilderbrand-US PRESSWIRE

A couple weeks after losing four-star quarterback Cameron Rising to Texas, Oklahoma reloaded by landing the commitment of Texas high school star Tanner Mordecai.

The 10th-ranked pocket-passer in the country announced his decision via Twitter on Thursday afternoon, picking the Sooners over a number of top programs including Georgia, Oklahoma State, Baylor, Ole Miss, and Texas Tech.

Not only is Mordecai ranked as the 149th-best prospect on the ESPN 300 for the class of 2018, he's actually listed two spots higher on the quarterback rankings then Rising.

With Baker Mayfield graduating after this season, Mordecai will join a crowded list of quarterbacks for the program in 2018, including former Texas A&M star Kyler Murray.
