Mack Brown would coach again in 'right situation'

Chris Nicoll / USA TODAY Sports

Mack Brown found his name on the Hall of Fame ballot Thursday, but his coaching days may not be over.

"There is no doubt that if the right situation came up, I would coach again," the former Texas head coach told SXM College Sports on Wednesday. "I have some good years left."

Brown coached the Longhorns from 1998-2013, compiling a 158-48 record and entrenching the program as one of the best in the country. He won a national title with the 2005 squad that featured Vince Young's heroics in the Rose Bowl.

The 65-year-old has stayed with Texas as an adviser, and works as a broadcaster for ESPN.
