Montreal Alouettes fans can breathe a sigh of relief.

Alouettes quarterback Darian Durant didn't suffer a major injury after injuring his leg at practice Tuesday, the team announced.

"After having undergone MRI imaging and further examination by our medical staff, it appears that Darian did not suffer a major injury. His return timetable will be evaluated on a daily basis," the Alouettes said in a statement.

Montreal acquired Durant in January and quickly signed him to a three-year deal to give them some stability at the quarterback position. Durant missed most of 2015 with an injury, but returned last season to throw 14 touchdowns and more than 3,800 yards for the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
