Strickland has no regrets following bench-clearing brawl

Hunter Strickland has had time to process the bench-clearing brawl he instigated Monday by throwing at Bryce Harper, and despite receiving a six-game suspension for his actions, the San Francisco Giants reliever isn't feeling any remorse.

"No," Strickland said Tuesday when asked by Chris Haft of MLB.com if he has any regrets. "I think it's done. Yesterday is in the past."

Strickland is currently eligible to pitch for the Giants as he appeals his suspension. He said he's "not thrilled about" receiving the suspension for hitting Harper but did take responsibility for his actions, according to John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle.

The right-hander drilled Harper in the leg with a 98-mph fastball in the eighth inning and proceeded to exchange punches with the onrushing outfielder. Strickland had to be restrained by three teammates and was escorted off the field.

Harper and Strickland don't have a long history with one another, but Harper did take Strickland deep for a pair of home runs during the 2014 National League Division Series.

Entering Monday's game, Strickland had hit just four batters in 136 1/3 career innings.
